‘When in doubt, always question’, is something I challenge myself with when I think about what to read or write. If I am confused about what to write, I try to write something out of the box or unusual. Here are a few ideas to get you started in the coming weeks.
Ages 6-8
- The Magic Paintbrush: One evening, while you were painting with your favourite paintbrush all the pictures and figures slowly start coming to life. What do you draw, and what happens next to all the figures you have painted?
- If I Could Fly: James always dreamed of flying like an airplane in the night sky. James accidentally trips on the stairs and when he stuck out his hands he suddenly started floating instead of falling on his face. Describe James’ journey with this new ability.
- The Superhero School: Everyone in the town of Tricky was born with superpowers. Rae still doesn’t know what her superpower is and she is supposed to start school tomorrow. What superpower do you think she will discover at school, and what will she learn in superhero school?
